Before I fully embrace the new year, there are a couple Christmas leftovers I need to finish. (Not cookies…like the rest of the world, my diet started Tuesday. Promise.)
My office believes in celebrating Christmas to the fullest. I had at least four work parties this year, all of which called for festive apparel. However, I still had to look professional, so I created the festive look through color and a few sparkles.
The first picture was my outfit for a western-themed party. As much as I love them, I couldn’t bring myself to wear cowboy boots to work, so I wore a blouse with horse shoes on it as my nod to the theme (and my NFL team – go Colts!). I belted the sweater to make the outfit look a little bit more polished and complete.
The second picture shows that you can do sequins at work. However, to tone down the bling, I wore a conservative cardigan and trousers and minimal jewelry.
My green pants are J-Crew, and I got them for a mega-deal at a sample sale in NYC. I was born to live in the city. My red shirt is from Old Navy, and the red sweater from the Gap Outlet. The sequin shirt is actually from Wal-Mart – it’s hard to find clothes there that don’t look cheap and/or fit poorly, but it’s an exciting day when you do!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their loved ones and that you all got some beautiful clothes wrapped up under the tree. On to 2013!
