If you have your grandmother’s wedding dress just waiting to be recycled, today would be the perfect time to pull it out because lace is having a moment.
I find lace to be a bit tricky, though, because most in my price range looks like it’s in my price-range and will snag the minute I take it out of the store.
Recently, however, I found this great off-white skirt at H&M, on sale for only $15. The lace is a higher quality than I see most places, and since it’s a pencil skirt, the cut is flattering on pretty much everyone. The color and cut both make it very versatile. I paired this skirt with a navy silk blouse, a strand of long pearls, and my favorite teal pumps (navy and dark teal are beautiful coordinating jewel tones), and polished it off with a bow ring (mainly because I’m a sucker for anything with bows).
While lace is often considered a more formal material, you can see that it easily transitions to a day-time piece by pairing it with the right office-appropriate counterparts. I’m glad this ultra-feminine material is back in vogue, and I hope it stays around for a very long time.
