One of my favorite things about summer is shorts. I wish I had more than two days in the week when I could wear them because they’re so comfortable and cute.
The other night, I went to a festival nearby to watch some fireworks, so shorts seemed appropriate. The night wasn’t super hot, though (I’m really not sure what’s going on with the weather this year), so I added my new favorite striped denim jacket. You can’t really see the stripes in this picture, so think train engineer. Also, I bought this jacket at Charlotte Russe (another one of my I’m-not-fifteen-so-I-only-buy-cheap-accessories-here stores) – sometimes, you just get lucky.
Even though I was going to watch fireworks, it’s not the fourth of July, so I didn’t want to look SUPER patriotic. I chose cream as an accent color, instead of true white, and I added earrings with a bit of turquoise to throw off the American-flag look. I don’t know if I was actually successful, but overall, the outfit turned out cute.
*Disclaimer. I’m not really super hippy. The cropped jacket and loose fit of the shorts just make me look that way in this picture.
