The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. I think America is really great.

To celebrate, I wore a different patriotic outfit almost every day last week.  Unfortunately, taking pictures of my outfits at my parents house proved no easy task, so there is only proof of one – but it was my favorite, anyway.

PSA: it’s now acceptable to mix denims.  The key is to make sure they’re totally different shades so it doesn’t look like you’re trying to match.  I chose my light chambray shirt with some dark skinnies for this look, and polished it off with red and white accessories, including the scarf on my head.  I didn’t start out planning to wear the scarf on my head, but I couldn’t get it to look right elsewhere, and this is a super easy way to tie it.  (Here’s a semi-accurate tutorial if you want to recreate the Rosie the Riveter look – except my scarf is long and skinny, not square.)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating America’s birth and greatness, eating lots of good food (what’s more American than that?), and wearing as much red, white, and blue as you could fit on your body.

Til next year, God bless America!
