I’ve been trying to get creative with my clothing lately. Although I own so many pieces, I still sometimes get bored with my closet, and I’m always trying to think of new ways to wear things, especially with dresses and heavy sweaters which can be pretty limited in styling options.
So, a few weeks ago, I decided to try tucking a heavy sweater into my skirt and seeing what happens. And you know what, I actually really liked it!
I think I started with my boots here. These are the ones I’ve been trying to show you unfolded and over the knee – only in this outfit and with the way I’m standing, you can’t really tell. I tried. Anyway, to showcase the boots, I needed a shorter (but still warm!) skirt, and the outfit evolved from there.
A bulky sweater tucked in only makes more bulk, so I think this look could be tricky to pull off, depending on the skirt – where it hits, the way it hangs, one’s particular body shape. I also needed the belt to make the outfit look complete and intentional – not just like I’d forgotten that sweaters aren’t made for tucking in. But, with that touch, the stars aligned and I got a cute new way to wear one of my favorite sweaters.
