I really love this dress. I don’t think this is the most flattering picture ever to show off how pretty it is, but is there anything more feminine than lace? And I appreciate that the underlay is white, not nude. I’ve never been a fan of giving the illusion of nakedness (I’m looking at you, J.Lo.)
If you can tell from the middle close-up, there is a sheer portion at the waist – subtle enough to be appropriate for (most) occasions, interesting enough to make this more than just your run of the mill black lace dress.
Normally, I probably wouldn’t wear a belt with this dress, but it’s a little big, and I happened to have one that fit the feel and style of the dress. Necessity is the mother of invention.
Red with black and white always seems a little overdone to me, but it’s easy and striking, so I went with it.
What do you think about the lace trend – old fashioned, or have you embraced it? How about sheer panels? Tacky or just flirty enough to be tasteful? Let me know your thoughts!

I LOVE LACE. So the current trend makes me happy. 🙂 I walk into Forever 21 and just want to buy all. the. things. because they have lace on everything.
Very cute dress!

It’s a very whimsical, feminine trend for sure, Naomi. I’m not surprised you love it! 🙂
