Since starting a new job, I’ve had to have my picture taken several times for the website, my staff ID, etc.

Let me assure you – picture day is no less awful at 31 than it was at 8. I don’t know why standing against a gray background staring straight into a camera with an umbrella?? behind it (clearly I know a lot about photographic accessories) makes for such miserable pictures, but I never liked them then, and I don’t like them now.  The guy was even super nice, took about 10, and let me pick the one I liked the best. But there’s a limit to how many different ways I can tilt my head, so they pretty much all looked the same. I picked the one I hated least and called it a day. (Note: I did not order the wallet sizes to distribute to my friends and family).

At least my outfit was cute for the pictures I took of myself. If anyone ever questions why my ID is so unattractive, I can show them this picture as proof that I at least started out looking decent.

1-yellow-cardigan-white-cropped-pantsHave you had your pictures taken lately? Were you pleased with the results? For those of you with kids, is this terrible school picture thing universal, or just my lot in life? I will say, my driver’s license tends to be pretty good for some reason. Perhaps that’s God’s consolation prize to me, since He knew I would look bad in every other ID picture I ever take.
