When I was a kid, I always wanted to marry someone who was an Italian-Portuguese-Spanish-Israeli-Greek combo. Not only because he would obviously be beautiful (tall, dark, and handsome, duh), but because I’m a Heinz 57 myself of all the northern European countries and I just thought it’d be funny to make my kids learn a million different ethnicities.
Whether or not that dream comes true, remains to be seen. I continue to “hope” as my blurry ring says above. Regardless, one of my six different national backgrounds is Irish, so I celebrate today with green, of course. And that’s it, because I really don’t care for corned beef or cabbage.
How are you celebrating the day when, no matter your background, we are all Irish? Did you remember to wear green, or have you been pinched?
