Last night’s Super Bowl was completely and utterly depressing. Not only was it incredibly boring to watch a totally lopsided game, but the ads weren’t good, and my beloved Peyton Manning missed out on possibly his last chance at earning a much-deserved second Super Bowl ring. It was rough.
Fortunately, there’s always fashion to cheer a girl up. You’ve seen my Manning jersey before, but for this occasion, I repurposed the Colts blue jersey by pretending it was a Broncos Navy, and pairing it with an orange tank to really give it the Broncos’ feel.
I wanted to also show you my cute former roommate, Anne. Anne is from Washington, so I can’t blame her for rooting for the wrong team in last night’s game. She recently bought the cute top you see her wearing here, and it perfectly goes with Seattle’s colors and is a great choice for the fashion-minded fan. I would normally reserve this post for a Wednesday Inspired look post, but clearly, it fit with this Monday’s theme.
What are some of your game-day fashion ideas?
There are few things in life I love more than a good theme. Peyton Manning is one of them. Cupcakes are another. But, pretty high on the list is a good theme. Even if the colors are weird.
This weekend was, of course, Saint Patrick’s Day. I like to drag out holidays as long as possible, so I’d been wearing green for days. But, on Saturday, I decided to embrace my Protestant Irish heritage and add the orange as well. Green and orange is not a color combo I would normally advocate, but I allowed it since it was festive.
I’m not too proud to admit that I wore the same jeans two days in a row. In this picture, you can see the color a little better, although neither capture the not-quite-kelly-green perfectly. I’ve been in a flats mood lately, which, if you know me at all, you know is really weird. But, the weekend calls for comfort (sometimes), and so I embraced it with one of my favorite pairs of shoes – some moccasins I bought at Bakers at least 7 years ago. It will be a sad day when I have to say goodbye to those babies (I fear the time is drawing close).
I hope you all enjoyed this most green of holidays and celebrated in style. On Sunday, we were all a little Irish.
